Users who exceeded the quota their subscription allows had to wait until the next billing cycle for relaying to continue, or move up a plan for a spike that might not repeat. Top-ups fix that: you buy a bundle of extra messages when you need it and keep going.
Credit is pooled at workspace level, so any assigned channel in overage draws from the same pool rather than each one needing its own top-up, and credit is consumed by soonest expiry first so nothing is left on the table. Each bundle expires after its own expiry period, and credit is only granted once payment is confirmed.
The billing area shows your current allowance, the bundles available, the packs you currently hold, where the credit is being spent by channel, and your purchase history, with a confirmation page that waits for the payment result. Notifications cover a top-up being fully consumed, one approaching expiry, and the last one expiring, sent once per top-up so several live bundles do not produce a wall of alerts.
Buying top-ups requires an active paid subscription, so trialing and lapsed workspaces are blocked, though any credit they already hold stays visible.
